The mark was Rene Lacoste, one of the legendary French tennis player in the circuit.

During 1927, he and his colleagues in the team, like synchronized Musketeers, took the Davis Cup away from U.S. tennis player for the first time. It was during this tournament, if a legendary Lacoste bet with the captain of the team.

The captain of the team agreed to buy a bag was Lacoste, the alligator skin, when it could win a very important tennis match for the French team. And when he won that important game, then it was synchronized as the alligator by the media and the press of America. His friend, Robert George, a small image of an alligator that was embroidered on the blazer he wore on the tennis courts. It was then the creation of the vast kingdom in the Lacoste fashion industry today.

In 1933, it has so many André Gillier, who was the owner of the largest manufacturing knitwear French, and decided their own company. The main product of both eyes, was the alligator-embroidered shirt that Lacoste was during this match to win. At that time, he had a tennis T-shirts for his personal use, wanted to do both and benefit of the approach.
