A couple of years ago, our family had to struggle with a crisis. My husband had become sick with a terrible disease. No, it wasn’t cancer. It wasn’t HIV. For me, it was something worse. My husband had become a victim of alcohol addiction.
After a lot of convincing, he finally agreed to get treatment. We decided to check him into one of the more well known Addiction Treatment centers. I didn’t want him to go to just any Alcohol Rehab Center because I wanted to make sure that he would get better. From the moment we stepped in there, I knew we had made the right choice. I could immediately see the difference in his appearance. He said that he had started to feel more relaxed in this place. The first few weeks were agonizing for him and for me because he was really struggling and I knew that he was struggling. But we all had to stay strong for the future.
It’s been over a year since he left the treatment center, and up to this day, I still feel a bit of uneasiness. I know for a fact that Alcohol Rehab can be a lifetime process for some people. So right now, all we can do is give him our love and support to make sure that he doesn’t become ill again.
